May 1st

Where has the time gone? May already...really!!!! I am very excited about this next weekend. I get to see Aunt Debbie and my mom. We are doing the Sprint For Life 5K at MD Anderson. Walking with my hero!!!! God is so good...pray we get to talk with other survivors and family members about THE GREAT PHYSICIAN....

So, my memory verse for the next few weeks is from 2 Peter 3:9 (The Message)
"God isn't late with His promise as some measure lateness. He is restraining Himself on account of you, holding back the End because He doesn't want anyone lost. He's giving everyone space and time to change."

Wow, how time flies when you are soooooooooooo busy!!! It seems like I just posted a verse. I must confess to you ladies that I am having a hard time memorizing, but it is not going to stop me from finding a new verse and at least reading it everyday. I write my verses in a notebook so I know where they are. I know that my memory is not the same since I have taken chemo. Sometimes the simplest thing I know I should know, I can't remember. Oh, well, I am alive and well , so I will continue to TRY to hide God's word in my heart.

So for those of you who say, I can't memorize, you can at least pick some verses and read them everyday. The Lord can help do the rest. It is amazing how he brings to mind the verses you need at just the right time. So come on and join us.

"Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts.

And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting."

Ps. 139:23-24 KJV

Please be in prayer for the "Sprint for Life Walk" on May 7 for Ovarian Cancer. I wrote a tract and we will be handing them out, we are praying for souls to be saved. Also, pray for my sister, Paula and my niece, Pam for safety as they travel to come here to walk with me.

April....

I was reading a story about April 1st...An Atheist was suing the state of  Florida because the Christians have all these Holy Days they celebrate, but he didn't have one and wanted one.  The judge declared, "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good." Psalm 14:1. The judge declared April Fool's Day the Atheist holiday.....It gives me a new perspective on the day. 


There are many people who say there is no God, and who know there is a God but do not have God in their lives.  How do they do it?  How do they live day by day?  How do they go through the up's and down's of life without the Savior, without the King of kings and Lord of lords?  I stopped and prayed for the many people around me that don't know my Jesus.  


Time is short.  Get the Word out.  Tell people today that there is a Savior. There is a Balm in Gilead. There is a Great Physician. There is a Comforter. There is a Friend that sticketh closer than a brother. There is a Way-maker, Healer, Peace-giver, Path-lighter.  Are you getting it?  HE IS ALL WE NEED!!!  He is the Alpha and Omega, Beginning and the End....PRAISE THE LORD!


That is my thought for the day.  God is good and God is Right.


My verse for the next 2 weeks is:

Exodus 14:14 (KJV)

"The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace."

I'm using the King James Version, but I looked it up in The Message and here is what it says:

"God will fight the battle for you. 
      And you? You keep your mouths shut!"

Simply said??

"The LORD bless you, and keep you:

The LORD make his face shine upon you, and be gracious unto you:

The LORD lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace."

Wow, where does the time go!!! We are enjoying our Spring Break, we are still wondering when the break comes in. We are doing things around the church and house which we can't get done while working. The best part is not having to get up at 4:00 am.

Almost everyday we hear or see of more disasters occuring around the world. It is amazing to see God's word fulfilled. It sure appears that "Time is Short". It helps to hide God's word in our hearts to help us go through the trials of life. I have been able to share scripture with others who are going through some difficulties in the last couple of weeks. It is great how the Lord gives you just the right verse when you need it.

Here is my verses "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts." Isaiah 55:8-9 KJV

Remember to just pick up where you left off, don't get discouraged and just quit. Just find another verse, post it, and hide it in your heart. Also, invite others to join us. We add new friends weekly so don't forget to invite them.

In like a Lion, Out like a Lamb....

I heard that phrase today on the television.  The March weather has truly come in like a lion.  When the weatherman said that I thought....Jesus is my Lion, my Shepherd, my Saviour, my Friend.  He is there to protect, love, nurture; He gives wisdom, forgiveness, comfort, and understanding.  "Oh, how He loves us, oh, oh, how He loves us."  I'm so undeserving, I'm not worthy of His grace, yet in the lowest places of our lives, on the mountain tops of our lives, HE IS THERE!!!

And He's Ever Interceding

Someone to go the extra mile

Just like a mother caring for her child

A friend who sticks through thick and thin

No matter where you've been

Just like one great big family

A stronger older brother He will be

My Bible verse is from The Message....I usually don't read this translation much, but today it hits it...points straight to where I am...

"Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God's Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don't know how or what to pray, it doesn't matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That's why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good."

Hope y'all had a Happy Valentine's Day!

Scott and I had our first bus accident on Valentine's Day during our Mid-Day. We were heading back to transportation when a man in a pick up truck hit the back end of our bus. He pulled out of the right hand lane to get out of trafiic, right into our lane and hit us. No kids on the bus and no one was hurt. Praise the Lord! We pray every morning for safety.

Well, ladies hope you are doing good on your scripture memory. Let's try to invite others to join us. Ask ladies at your church if they want to join the Daughters of the King.

Please pass on prayer requests: Patti Bailey - kidney & pancreas transplant in 2008 - is in hospital right now getting antirejection meds.

This is the verse the Lord gave me this time during my battle with cancer. I am giving my Lord the glory and trying to be a blessing to others that are sick.

Remember if you didn't start in January that is OK, just jump right in and start today.

What a month...

This month God has shown me so many things through my Bible Verses I have memorized.  I was talking to a friend yesterday about our new verses.  I told her I didn't have one yet, but God usually reveals one when I need it.


I then started to tell her about how these verses have been an important part of my life this past month.  I've been able to say(text) these verses to friends who are going through some very rough times.  WOW!  God works in ways we couldn't have on our own.  I'm humbled by the fact that He is using me to fulfill His purposes...


So here is my verse for the next two weeks..

"The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?"

Psalm 27:1 KJV

So, ladies, lets never forget to hide God's Word in our hearts!!

Well, ladies, two weeks have come and gone!

How did your scripture memorization go? I did get my first scripture memorized. I am choosing scripture to help me right now. It is amazing how God's Word will comfort and strengthen you in times of need.

Jan. 1st

Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast. Ps. 57:1 KJV

Here is my scripture verse for Jan. 15th

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16 KJV

So, again ladies, we would like to invite you to join us in memorizing two scriptures a month for the year. Some have had difficulties in posting their scripture so just jump right in now and get started. Just because you didn't get January 1st posted, start now. Here are step by step directions: 1) Go to blog, 2) Become a follower, 3) Go down to the comments box, 4) Type in your scripture, please give what version, your name, city & state, 5) It will ask you to pick a profile, pick Google, 6) Sign in and post. That is all there is to it. If you have problems, please ask Pam or I for help. Also, please invite your family, friends and church ladies to join us. Let's build an army of ladies who are willing to hide God's Word in their hearts.

Don't forget to share your prayer requests. Just this week I learned of two more cancer victums. One is a bus driver at work with breast cancer, I can't share her name because she didn't want alot of people to know (in fact she already went through surgery and back to work this week). Another one is the 7 yr. old granddaughter (Kiera) of another bus driver (Lisa Loven) who has a neuroblastoma (fast growing). Next is a 6 week old baby (Reagan Faith Van Fleet) with serious heart problems.

How's it going my lady friends?  I'm so very excited...I have my verse about 90% memorized.  It has helped me a great deal this week.  Some of my friends are going through a very rough time and I think back on this verse and peace flows!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR

God has given us a NEW opportunity to serve HIM!  Through SCRIPTURE MEMORY we can become strong.  Through SCRIPTURE MEMORY we can become empowered.  Through SCRIPTURE MEMORY we can build our faith.  Through SCRIPTURE MEMORY we CAN through Christ who strengthens us!!

GET IT??  We can become what God wants us to become......

So, what is God calling you to become....what does He want to make visible to you this year...

My God is BIG!   My God is POWERFUL!  My God is my SHIELD, my PROTECTOR...Here is my FIRST MEMORY VERSE FOR 2011...(this verse appears in my spiral bound index cards)

LAST DAY OF THE YEAR...

Looking back sometimes make you wonder what if...
Looking back sometimes make you say should have...
Looking back sometimes make you say WOW...
Looking back on this year, for me, makes me say I AM BLESSED...


God has done some AMAZING things this year in my life and the lives of my family.  
*We traveled to see family and friends exactly one year ago...
*We traveled to Houston, TX, many times...
*We got called to Denver, CO...
*We moved through a blizzard and were safe...
*We made new friends & had to say goodbye to old friends...
*WE HAVE BEEN BLESSED!!!


"Lord, You are good and Your mercies endureth FOREVER.."


The New Year brings NEW STARTS...God is the God of second chances...What are you going to do for HIM this year?  How are you going to better yourself?  What steps are you going to take to bring family & friends to know our Savior?  How are you going to handle hardships? 


For me, those questions are resolved...I'm going to learn more Scripture this year, so I can overcome evil with good.   WE need to be able to stand firm against the evil one when he tries to knock us down!!!  The first step in doing that is with Scripture...

Look Out 2011

I am looking forward to seeing what God is going to do with a group of ladies who are willing to hide God's Word in our hearts. We all know where our strength comes from. This last year has been one of the hardest years for Scott and I, with the Lord's help we have made it through. We are praying and asking God for a better year in 2011. What better way to start than with hiding God's Word in our heart and sharing it with others. Also, praying for each other as a group, there is strength in numbers.

Pam and I are excited about joining together with our family and friends to see this group grow. I must thank Pam for being the technical one and doing such a great job on this blog page.

Here are a couple of prayer requests: Joanne Neilson - starting chemo treatments today for ovarian cancer; Bonnie Bryan - in hospital graft vs host in alot of pain and weak

I am so excited about this New Year.  I'm ready to see what God has in store for us.  We are followers of God, leaders in our community and sisters in Christ.

Helpful Reminders

I have had some people ask me if I am sending out reminders about posting to our Blog. The answer is no.  There are too many people to remind, BUT I, personally, have set my calendar on my phone to remind me to post to the blog every 1st & 15th of the month.  If you have a phone that can do that, I encourage you to do the same as I did.

READY...SET...GO!!!!!

So here we go...I'm off to start a "New Thing" this year.  I want to dig a little deeper in my daily walk with God.  I read how Beth Moore is doing a Bible Memory Blog for 6,000+ women and I thought I could do that with my family and friends.  So here it is!!  We are going to start JANUARY 1, 2011, with 24 Scriptures Memorized by DECEMBER 31, 2011. 


Here is what Aunt Debbie & I thought...Since time is so tight, Beth Moore wanted us to post by 8 AM on the 1st & 15th of every month, I figured by midnight of the 1st & 15th we could have our Scripture posted on this BLOG!! I know many ladies use many different versions of the Bible, so we would like you to post your ONE verse and the version you use.  That's all we have to do...AND if you have a prayer request you would like to share with us for that 2 week period feel free to post that as well.


We want to be connected and feel a unity amongst this new group.  We all come from different backgrounds, religions, and cultures, so please lets come together and truly BECOME sisters.  We do have one thing in common...We are all Christians!! We are all DAUGHTERS OF THE KING!!!


I am so very excited that you want to join us in becoming...You say, "Becoming what?"  Becoming a friend, becoming a better Christian, becoming a support, becoming what God calls us to become!!!
